My expertise includes all aspects of qualitative, mixed-methods, and community-driven planning, evaluation, and research, with a special focus on public art, public spaces (parks, libraries, community gardens), social connectedness, place-based arts and cultural community development strategies, and art for social change.

Here are some examples of the ways that I have worked with clients and partners in the past. Most projects don’t fit neatly into these categories, but they have included many of the following elements. Feel free to reach out to discuss what kind of project would meet your needs!

  • Evaluate your impacts and refine your program processes using participant-driven methods, with a focus on equity and systems dynamics.

  • Build a theory of change to understand your intended impact and measure your progress toward your complex systems change goals. Capture learnings for pilot projects and test models for long-term success.

  • Receive targeted one-on-one support for evaluation design and planning, instrument development, data collection, and qualitative analysis. Develop peer learning structures like cohorts and learning communities. Offer workshops on evaluation for your community.

  • Conduct decision-making processes that allow community members to impact the outcomes of initiatives that affect them.

  • Get support for documentation, reflection, and storytelling for complex initiatives to share with participants, supporters, and the public.

  • Craft arts and culture ecosystem interventions and creative community planning projects using emerging practices in the field, including for cultural plans and asset mapping, creative economic development, government support for arts and culture, public art programs, and cultural preservation.
